Creative Partnerships

The Creative Partnership Hungary programme is the Hungarian adaptation and further development of the Creative Partnerships international programme, which has been operating in Hungary since 2015. The aim of the partnership between teachers, creative professionals, students and parents is to increase the motivation of students and teachers, to enrich teachers' methodology and to develop students' 21st century skills.

About the programme

Kreatív partnerség intézményi program: The complex programme aims to address the institutional problems identified by the school. The programme covers one or two school years, depending on the needs of the institution. The programme starts with a mapping of the school's development needs and problem mapping, followed by 20 hours of staff training. After the training, groups of children and teachers will be selected to be involved in specific classroom projects. Depending on the problem area identified by the institution, trained creative professionals and artists will be invited to the school to plan the course of the joint work together with the class teacher and the class teacher after classroom visits. After planning, the artist and the teacher hold weekly classroom sessions together in the chosen subject. The effectiveness of the classroom work is measured through a student questionnaire and qualitative tools.

Kreatív partnerség osztálytermi program: The classroom programme aims to support the classroom work of teachers interested in the pedagogical methodology of the Creative Partnership programme, through the involvement of an artist mentor. Teachers who apply for the programme will attend the Introduction to Creative Education teacher training, after which they will work with a tailor-made creative professional artist for half or a whole school year, week by week. Regular work together will enable the teacher to plan and implement creative classroom activities independently. Participation in the programme requires the agreement of the head of the institution.

Why does it work?

Reviews

"We were struck by the place of the arts in the classroom. The most appealing part of the programme is that teachers can work with artists who bring a different approach to the classroom." - Erika Horváth, Principal of Pécs Sebestyén Primary School
"This has been the most inspiring year of my 25-year teaching career" /teacher interview/
"On Thursdays I wake up much lighter and I feel more enthusiastic about coming to school because I know we have a creative class" /student/
"I didn't feel like we were learning literature but somehow I had the Goosey Goosey in my head, it was more like learning by playing" /student/
"When it was an online creative class, at home the whole family sat on the other side of the laptop and listened to what was going on, it was so different from the other classes" /parental feedback/
"I never thought Feri would take over so much, especially with Goosey Goosey, that they would get the job done right. So far he hasn't been interested in anything and has never contributed constructively to the lesson, I was very surprised." /teacher/
